The short versionWe collect what we need to build your plan and show your progress. We never sell your data or show ads. Export or delete everything anytime.
Startup noteWe're a young startup, so we collect as little as we can. Less data means less to lose.

What we collect

  • Account details: name, email and password (stored securely, never readable by us).
  • Sign-up answers: goal, activity, height, weight and age.
  • What you log: food, drinks, workouts and weight.
  • Basic app data like device type and crash reports, so we can fix bugs.

What we don't

  • No selling your data. Ever.
  • No ads, and no ad trackers.
  • No reading your contacts, photos or messages. A photo you snap to log a meal is only used for that log.

How we use it

  • To work out your daily budget and show your progress.
  • To keep your account secure and the app working.
  • To improve Kindkilos, using grouped, de-identified stats wherever we can.
  • To reply when you contact us.

Health data

  • Weight and food logs are health data, so we treat them with extra care.
  • We only use them with your consent, which you give at sign-up and can withdraw anytime.
  • Wearables only connect if you switch them on, and you can switch them off.

Who helps us

  • We use a few trusted providers for hosting, payments and email.
  • They only process data on our instructions and must keep it safe.
  • If data leaves the UK, we use approved safeguards.

Keeping it safe

  • Encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Only the few people who need access to run the app get it.
  • If something ever goes wrong, we'll tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

How long we keep it

  • As long as your account is open.
  • Delete your account and everything is gone within 30 days, except anything the law makes us keep (like payment records).

Your rights

  • Under UK GDPR you can see, correct, export or delete your data, and object to how we use it.
  • Most of this is one tap in Settings. For the rest, email privacy@kindkilos.com.
  • Not happy with us? You can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

Kids & changes

  • Kindkilos is for people aged 16 and over.
  • If we change this policy, we'll tell you in the app first.
